Michelle Cano, M.A., BCBA

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Michelle is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Florida International University (FIU) in 2016. She then received her masters in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University (BSU) in 2020. Michelle specializes in utilizing a variety of evidence-based ABA interventions to address the unique needs of each child under her care. This includes techniques such as discrete trial training (DTT), naturalistic teaching strategies, and functional communication training (FCT). By tailoring treatment plans to each child’s specific strengths and challenges, Michelle aims to maximize progress and promote meaningful outcomes.

Michelle’s journey in this field has been driven by a genuine desire to help the children she works with reach their full potential. Through compassionate understanding and collaboration with families, Michelle strives to create supportive environments where children can thrive and achieve meaningful progress.

Michelle is committed to staying current with the latest research and advancements in the field of ABA by regularly attending continuing education seminars (CEU’s). She has earned her CPR certification through the American Heart Associations’ Heart-Saver First Aid Program.

Ashley Mestre, M.S., BCBA

Director & Founder

Ashley Mestre is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the Director and Founder of Mestre Behavior Development, LLC. She received her Master of Science degree in Psychology, with a concentration in Behavior Analysis, from Florida International University. Ashley first began working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2000 and has since worked with children exhibiting various diagnoses as well as typically developing children with behavior challenges. She opened her private practice and Early Intervention clinic in 2009.

Specializing in early intervention, Ashley focuses on the development, implementation and supervision of Verbal Behavior Programs for children. Her goal is to increase language/communication, appropriate play skills, self-help skills and social skills, while decreasing problem behavior. She also assists parents with parent training programs in their homes and provides consultation services to other agencies and providers. Ashley has successfully implemented feeding programs for many children with limited food intake and helped many parents through the toilet training process.

Ashley regularly attends trainings and workshops to maintain knowledge of current research in her field and changes in ABA teaching procedures. She is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), Florida Association for Behavior Analysis (FABA), and the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA).
